    Lady Garbo

    6th February 2019
Hi there!  My name is Danielle (aka Lady Garbo).  I live in Hamilton, New Zealand with my husband and 3 children along with our dog, cat and fish.  I love singing, theatre, books, painting, journalling , weekends away and walking our dog Dobby.  My husband and I are Rubbish Truck Contractors,  so by day I drive a rubbish truck (and yes you guessed it - this is where my name Lady Garbo came from) and by night I create my journals or "go play with my crayons" as my husband puts it!

I started making my handmade journals in late 2017 as personal gifts  for family and friends after playing around with art journalling and junk journalling to wind down after work.   I'd watch YouTube videos while "playing" and "creating" and discovered a whole new world and way of doing things creatively.

Making journals became such an obsession that soon I had made more than I could give away.   I decided to try my luck at a local Market and "test the water" so to speak.   The interest shown in my Lady Garbo Journals  encouraged me to keep on making them.  I  set myself the challenge to make each one different from the next to ensure that everyone receives something that is unique and personal.

In May of last year I set up a website:  www.ladygarbojournals.co.nz  and continued to attend Expos and Markets with my journals.  I  met and connected with so many  warm and responsive women at these events,  who also shared a love for paper arts and creative pursuits in general.   This inspired me to keep making and creating more journals,  coming up with new ideas as well as some sideline projects which I hope to share further with others through my website.

This year in 2019 I will be attending even  more Expos and Markets in NZ and  expect to start offering  journal making workshops within the North Island of New Zealand.  I also plan to  film and upload a few video tutorials and ideas (Vlogs) via You Tube once I have  sorted  out the "techie" side of things!

I'm looking forward to the coming year and all it promises and fervently hope that you are too!
    Bye for now...
    Lady Garbo
